Celebrating new beginnings!
Friends and neighbors—
I had the profound honor last week of stepping onto the dais for the first time as your Culver City Councilmember.
I’m so grateful for my family, friends, and all those who watched in person or online. Your presence meant the world to me.
I am deeply humbled by the trust you’ve placed in me and tremendously excited for the road ahead.
In my first remarks, I mentioned that my dad once told me to have a “firm center and soft edges” and it stuck with me.
To my friends and neighbors, here’s my firm center: a belief that our community grows stronger when we find new ways to share in its prosperity.
Whether you supported me or not, know that my door will always be open. I am here to listen to you, to learn from you, and to work with you to create a city where all of us belong.
Together, we will build a future that reflects the inclusive spirit of this community. Thank you for giving me the privilege of representing you in this important moment for our city. I’m ready to get to work and make Culver City a place where every voice is heard, and every person matters.
I also want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Yasmine-Imani McMorrin for serving our city with grace as Mayor, to our new Mayor Dan O’Brien, and to our city’s first openly LGBTQ+ (and second renter) Vice Mayor, Freddy Puza.
Freddy and Yasmine’s leadership represent a City Council that is becoming more representative of the people we serve, a trend we should strive to continue.
Onward we go into a new year of important work ahead!
I am excited to invite you to join us for a community menorah lighting!

Monday 12/23 at 6PM
There will be latkes, sufganiyot (jelly donuts), dreidels, and gelt galore. Do you like sour cream on your latkes? Or are you more of an apple sauce girly? There will be plenty of both, so no need to choose!
Totally FREE and welcome to all.
Donations of winter clothes, blankets, and toys are welcome and will be distributed to those in need thanks to our friends at Grace Lutheran Church of Culver City.
See you there!
