New Year, New Ways to Make Progress in Culver City!
Hi friends,
As our federal government continues its assault on decency and human rights, I want to take a moment to uplift the names of Renee Good and Keith Porter Jr., who were both fatally shot by ICE agents over the past two weeks. We must continue to say their names and demand accountability— ICE must be abolished.
It was powerful to see so many people take to the streets this past weekend to protest this depraved administration and stand up for our shared values.
I’m also grateful to share that our Hanukkah party raised over $800 for West Los Respuesta Rápida, the mutual aid group providing critical support to families impacted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity. Thank you to everyone who showed up, donated, and celebrated with us.
If you haven’t yet, you can still donate via their fiscal sponsor, Culver City Presbyterian Church.
I know many of us are holding on to hope that 2026 is the year the tide begins to turn. November seems so distant right now, but it’s just 42 weeks away.
In the meantime, we are staying laser-focused on keeping our Culver City community moving forward.
Despite the chaos at the federal level, we made real, tangible progress locally in 2025. If you haven’t already, check out my 2025 Wrapped blog post to see what we were able to accomplish together.

Showing up for our Assemblymember Isaac Bryan
Looking ahead, next Sunday I’m co-hosting a fundraiser for Culver City’s friend and fighter, Assemblymember Isaac Bryan, and I’d love for you to join me.
Tickets are a suggested donation of $155, but you’re welcome to give whatever you can.
Assemblymember Bryan has been a champion for a better California—fighting to shift resources from carceral systems to communities, supporting foster families, working to end urban oil drilling, and advancing so many other critical priorities.
Thanks for catching up with me.
I hope you have a nice start to your week!
