The stakes of this election
Hey friends,
$7,260.
That is how far away we are from reaching our initial fundraising goal for the entire campaign.
The most important fundraising deadline of the race is just 24 hours away. There will be one more deadline in late October, but by that point, most of our expenses will have already been paid.
Can you give once more today and help us reach our goal? You can give up to the limit of $1120 per person.
I am so proud to have raised from the most individual donors of any candidate as of our last filing. And we did it without taking a dime from fossil fuel, real estate, or police organizations or companies.
And with over 800 donations and an average donation of $102… this is a people-powered campaign through and through.
But we must fill this final $7,260 gap, because the stakes could not be higher in this election.
Over the past two years, our not-in-my-backyard City Council majority made homelessness illegal across the city and lowered wages for the city’s healthcare workers.
They blocked a measure to add more housing near jobs and transit across the city that would have alleviatated our housing crisis.
They led the charge to remove one of the city’s two protected bike lanes, a decision already putting families in our community at risk on our streets.
And they approved millions in militarized weapons and new survaillance systems for CCPD while leading Culver City toward an $18M fiscal cliff.
But we have a different vision for Culver City.
A vision of a future with up-to-date school facilities, safe streets, abundant housing for all incomes, and city services that care for all of us.
A future where you don’t have to worry about sending your kid to school on a bike or whether you will be able to afford the next rent increase. Where summer camps for kids don’t fill up in minutes and our mobile crisis team is available for use 24/7.
These are the choices we have to make in this election and why I’m stepping up to lead. To help us create a Culver City for all of us, not just the wealthy few.
In case you missed it, we were recently endorsed by L.A. City’s top financial watchdog, City Controller Kenneth Mejia, the Chair of the L.A. Board of Supervisors, Lindsey Horvath, and the Los Angeles County Democratic Party. I’m so honored to have their support for our campaign.
If you share the excitment that City Controller Mejia, Supervisor Horvath, and the LACDP have for our campaign, I’ll ask one more time. Can you give once more and help us raise $7,260 by tomorrow?
Your donation will pay for campaign literature and social media ads to get our message out in the final days of this campaign.
With two weeks until ballots drop and only 46 days left until Election Day, let’s leave it all out there and finish strong.
Now say it with me…
We believe that we will win!
Thank you for standing with us and getting us over the finish line. Together, we will chart a course for a city where everyone can thrive.
With gratitude,
Bubba
We have a fun event coming up, please join us if you can!
