Council meeting tonight at the Senior Center!

Hi all,

I’m coming in at the 11th hour to let you know that we are having a meeting tonight at 7PM! Once again, the meeting will be held at the Culver City Senior Center (NOT City Hall), because Council Chambers is being upgraded.

Here are a few important things on today’s agenda.

Consent Items

  • C-10 would approve new shade structures for spectators watching games at the Culver City Park baseball fields. These are paid for by Culver City Little League.

  • C-12 would discontinue a program providing free childcare at City Council meetings.

  • C-16 would approve a grant application for $122,600 in traffic safety programming for CCPD, including $4800 to conduct ‘bicycle/pedestrian education and enforcement operations’

  • A-1 will determine when we will fill existing vacancies in our city committees, boards, and commissions.

  • A-2 will determine which city subcommittees and external bodies each Councilmember will serve on.

I hope you join us tonight!

As always, you can participate in person or remotely via Webex. You can request to speak here or send in a comment electronically here or by emailing city.council@culvercity.org.

I was grateful to attend the Working Families Party convening this weekend in San Francisco alongside my colleague, Councilwoman Yasmine-Imani McMorrin, and other elected officials across the state. It was inspiring to be around other leaders working to make our communities more equitable, just, and welcoming to working people. This group endorsed myself, Councilmember McMorrin, and Nancy Barba in the 2024 election here in Culver City. Even during this dark period in our federal politics, I left feeling hopeful about the bright future we are building together. I am looking forward to bringing my learnings and some new tools back home to continue making Culver City a city for all of us.
